Captain Larry is an expert at analyzing skill levels and designing a program to quickly take the student from where they are to where they need to be. His instructions and directions are crystal clear allowing for quick mastering by the students. He continually monitors and assesses progress, gives detailed feedback and explanations, reviews the skills and gives more practice when it's required.
His knowledge of sailing, boat systems, boating requirements in both the U.S. and Canada and sailing Puget Sound are invaluable.
Once we had the basics, we requested that he help us plot a course to Friday Harbor from Semiahmoo Marina and sail with us. He explained the course, the chart symbols, and had us name the islands from all angles - approaching, passing, and then looking at them behind us. We had no trouble finding our way home by ourselves!
